I remember that I used to play this game in gaming store and I have beaten up for this game many times, but I never left it. It was released in 1997 which is one year after the second installment. It includes many fighting characters and these were part of the previous update as well, but Namco decided to add some new characters in the game so, this update was included many new features. A year later, the game received an update, subtitled Bloodline Rebellion. If anyone was wondering, yes, the digital audio port does work on the 357/369 however, for the tekken/dragon ball Z games, the audio is in 2 channel PCM stereo, not surround. Those games also supported DTS 5.1 surround audio in the arcades which is pretty cool, also used a custom small surround audio amp. The rail shooting games and the taiko games don’t use those video pcbs as they use the onboard hdmi video and digital audio port. I’ll take pictures of that usb hub and video boards of both my 357A and 357C so you can document them. The 357C/369 actually do share the same video boards but the usb hub is different as the 357C only has one usb port available while the 369 has 3 USB ports. The 357C is the first system with the usb hub as the previous systems used usb 2.0 extension cables. Not sure why Namco didn’t power the board internally but the 357C and 369 have an internal PSU to power the boards internally. The 357A and 357B used the same video/JVS pcb H036 USJ PCB, however, the previously unknown DC in port is to power that pcb separately. I read about SYSCON but I’m not sure if it would work on this system, I would take a crack at it but what do you guys think? I will post images of my solder work and the system on Imgur as well!Ĭlick to expand.the previous systems also used the JVS/VGA video pcb although it’s completely different from the the 357C/369 versions. Could this be a problem? I’m not to familiar with PlayStation 3 hardware and I was hoping you guys would like to help me preserve this arcade system. One thing I did notice is that the PS3 power supply gets noticeable hot to the touch! It’s an APS-226 PSU btw. I also added the jumper wires as I read that the original caps had a bridge. Basically, it works when it wants to.I’m not sure if it could be a BGA related problem or a power consumption/PSU problem, especially since I removed all the NECs and replaced them with high quality low ESR 330uf 2.5v tantalum capacitors. However when I keep plugging and unplugging the power cord, it will start to revive itself and play just fine for hours without shutting itself down. When I got it, the first thing I did was remove the NEC caps as they were sort of brown by this point, I replaced all of them and the system booted up, however after some time has passed and it cooled down, the system will go back to having the 3 beeps. Just like those PS3s, this one also seems to suffer from the yellow light of death issue, could also be GLOD but I can’t tell as these pcbs don’t have the traditional LED indicators, only the tiny speaker that produces the beep error codes. Hello all! My first true post! Well as the title says, I have finally found a Namco system 357 (A) with Tekken 6 bloodline rebellion installed, however it’s not 100% working.Īs you all may know, there were quite some revisions of the 357, I got the first one which uses a backwards compatible PlayStation 3 COK-002 motherboard.
